Hi, I'm Eva Catharina Deweerdt

So glad you're here and staying long enough to read this.
My creative journey started when I was still a child. I grew up in a small village in West-Flanders between cows & fields.I spent hours in my father's painting studio watching him carefully put every brushstroke on the canvas. Soon I got my first set of paints and brushes to make my first paintings become a fact.

I knew for a long time that I wanted to spend my professional career by making beautiful things for others. I graduated as a Plastic Arts teacher and later on as a graphic designer. I noticed that these 2 weren't enough to live up to my dream. 
In 2017 I started taking any lesson I could get my hands on in surface pattern design. I also advanced myself in the art of watercolour- and qouachepainting. And now I mostly use these painting techniques in my illustrations and pattern designs. Now I've created hundreds of patterns and could hardly stop designing at the end of every working day, I knew this was what I wanted to do all my life.

At the moment I live and work in my beloved Bruges. When I'm not in my studio (working on a design or illustration or shipping an order) you can find me sniffing around in an antique shop, treasure hunting at a local flea market, enjoying gardening in the greenhouse or communing with nature.

In my free time,  I travel with my love and 3 girls through Europe in our @camperbaby .  Along the way I get inspired by fauna & flora and all the little things that make people happy. I use this inspiration for future pattern collections. 

​

Currently, I’ve had the honour to work with several brands happy to collaborate with my artwork. Getting back to my roots, unfolding my painting & illustration skills, my passion for pattern is my present journey. I’m honoured to have you along for the ride.
